@jettson80 very … @jettson80 very true. i originaly saw otho's and they chose not to operate, when in fact it should have been done right away to improve chances of perfect recovery. i finaly saw a Neurosurgeon and he worked magic.

  • eclipsez0r:

@drummerGlucose its … @drummerGlucose its not the governments fault, they cant just hand out surgeries to everyone for free

however sounds like a worst case scenario for him and a nightmare no-one would want to deal with

  • jettson80:

I had three … I had three surgeries, L4 L5 twice, then L5 S1. Most recent was done by a neurosurgeon instead of an ortho surgeon. I'm not knocking ortho guys, but my neuro guy really seems to know his stuff better. I'm feeling better than I have in months.

My dad has to get … My dad has to get this surgery soon.
He has a severe slipped disk on the L5, pressing on a lot ofthe surrounding nerves.
He can barely walk and he has gout so he experiances excruciating pain of jagged shocks throughout his whole leg.
He can't afford it though so basicLly my family that lives with him is screwed. No money yet he can barely walk let alone live with the pain.
    Fuck you governemnt.

My life has been … My life has been ruined since my surgery, I had a spinal fusion at the L5-S1 level in July of 2006 and it is now 4 years later and I have severe shocking pains down my legs and have lost all feeling in my left leg from my butt to my toes. I have battled social security for disability because of the debilitating pain it has caused me. When i finnaly get my disability they will owe me backpay for over 55 months so that will help but it has been a long 4 years with no income let me tell you.

  • waxmastawes:

ps: my doctor was … ps: my doctor was Dr, Jaques Demers @ the Charles Lemoyne Hospital in Greenfield Park, Quebec Canada. he's very well known and is one of the top neurosurgeons in Canada.

  • Bilizza013:

how long is this … how long is this surgery?

try Dr. Ditsworth! … try Dr. Ditsworth! I had terrible pain in my lower back for years, and when I tried to treat it, but the surgery that many doctors offered me was open, which meant that I would have bone and other things taken out! I was scarred, but the pain only kept getting worse. I looked at leading providers such as LSI, who use a thick microscope. When I had surgery with Dr. Ditsworth, I just had a tiny hole and went home 2 hours after surgery! I highly recommend seeing him if you are afraid of surgery.

Exhaust ALL options … Exhaust ALL options before surgery.
PT, Decompression, Inversion. There are many alternatives to surgery. Why create a trauma to fix a trauma unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Decompression and inversion has helped greatly with my pain. You can get an inversion table for around $125 – $200 at Big 5, and your local chiropractor usually has a decompression table.. Good Luck

hi everyone, i just … hi everyone, i just underwent this surgery 1 month ago, and im feeling great. Prior to the surgery, i had intense and crippling waves of pain in my lower back which radiates down my left buttocks into the left calf everytime i got up from a sitting position. My left calf was also constantly cramping up.
one month post op, the crippling pain is gone..but my calfs still feel stiff. Occasionally there is a dull ache at the spot where the crippling pain used to hit, but it is more like a nuisance.

  • pokerrich9:

@zmfmanz how did … @zmfmanz how did this surgery go??

  • pokerrich9:

@RockinRobin08 how … @RockinRobin08 how did your surgery go?? I have same problem and wondered if your problem had been solved? I currently suffer extreme pain in buttocks and down back of leg, especially when sitting and getting up froma sitting position.

  • Vuthapich:

  • HermesPastelle:

who knows…all I … who knows…all I know is that doctor gets PAID.

  • AustinPowers215:

@bethp99 Begin … @bethp99 Begin using ice for 15 minutes every hour as many times a day as you can, no heat. Once you feel a progress in the inflammation you can start to use Biofreeze ( get it at CVS or other pharmacy) Stay away from stretching, bending and twisting. Cortisone injection may also be able to free the nerve. Once the pain is alleviated that is when heat is useful to increase circulation. I am dealing with the same thing and this is the best advice I have been able to find. Hope this helps.

I have 3 disk … I have 3 disk hernias and bone degenerative disease since about 2002.

I have had Sciatica to the point of not being able to walk for two 3 month periods. My Doctor recomend I avoid this procedure at all costs. I was put on a daily exercise routine and have not had a back spasm since June 2008. I Take the odd pain killer. I live a slowed down life but certainly a full one. I recomend exhausting Physical therapy and exercise before thinking about this procedure. Constant exercise does work.

  • joker7320:

4-5 Months is the … 4-5 Months is the setimated total recovery time. I had this surgery twice. Once in 1999 when I was 18 then in 2001 when I was 20. The relief from the leg pain is instant! And I personally felt no surgical pain. It may have been however that I was so relieved to not have the leg pain the surgical pain just didn't faze me. My advice to someone having this surgery, research your doctor, and listen to them. Back surgery is not something to take lightly!

  • andydanskine:

i had it done … i had it done improved my life tenfold

  • chrisevilmonkey:

i also have L4 and … i also have L4 and L5-S1, its been 9 months for me, no significant improvement….. but this video kinda scares me….1 wrong move , i can say bye bye to my legs…. i duno what to do…

  • s1phor:

Hey this looks … Hey this looks pretty cool, but also pretty dangerous. Makes you wanna think twice about studying for a doctor, 1 wrong move and the patient is crippled for the rest of his/her life. I was wondering, how much do that kind of operations cost anyway ? 10.000$-25.000$ ?

  • reedy0203:
